We’re excited to announce that chef, writer and farmer Nadia Lim, will be MC'ing The Most Important Food Conversation in Aotearoa, alongside virtual keynote Dan Barber. Our eighth annual hui is set to take place at the Majestic venue in Ōtautahi, Christchurch on Tuesday May 3rd & Wednesday May 4th.

It’s an amazing opportunity to have one of the world’s most famous chefs and food minds, Dan Barber focused on Aotearoa. We are looking forward to hearing what he has to say.

Our theme is “Lots of Little; the resilience of small and diverse solutions in such uncertain times”. The hui will cover conversations in this space from pasture to the ocean, from food retail to restaurants, from food waste to our kai stories through the eyes of the next generation. It will challenge thinking and re-imagine a way forward. Stay tuned for more speaker announcements.

On Wednesday 4th May our focus will be on NZ Grains. Supported by the Foundation for Arable Research, we will bring together farmers, scientists, bakers, millers, chefs and eaters to imagine a Local Grain Economy for Aotearoa.

“At a time when war and global supply shocks are prevalent, never has there been a better moment to consider food resilience and security for one of our most important staples here in Aotearoa” says Ivan Lawrie from FAR. It's great news that covid levels have changed to allow even more of us to come together to connect in person! If you want to be in the room where the action happens secure tickets asap.

For those who can’t make it to Ōtautahi in-person, both days will be streamed live online and recorded. So they will be available for ticket holders afterwards.

If you have any questions or would like to support the two day event, get in touch. hello@eatnewzealand.nz

Stuff announce 'Love Your Local'

We're really excited to see this new 'Love Your Local' campaign from our media partner Stuff.co.nz - focused on supporting our local hospitality businesses. They're asking us to register our favourite local, so they can help share the love. It's a simple role we can all play to contribute to those establishments who have had it tough over the last few years.

Show your love here.
We'd like to acknowledge the generous and ongoing support of our sponsors and partners including the Ministry for Primary Industries, ANZ, Our Land and Water, AgResearch & Anchor Food Professionals.
