Oh Calcutta Restaurant Parnell has been the winner of a number of Auckland Restaurant awards, the prestige's being METRO'S Top 50 Best Asian Restaurants and Viva's Takeout Awards for 2008 - Best Indian voted by the New Zealand Herald (19th November 2008). Oh Calcutta, is an award-winning restaurant and the 'Best Auckland Indian Restaurant'. It stands up to the best in the world. It was voted the 'Best Indian Restaurant' in New Zealand by Michael Guys Café Magazine 97 - 99 and collected two gold ratings at the Mobius awards in Chicago January 2001. It has survived reviews from NZ Herald, Metro, Lonely Planet and Lifestyle and was a Gold Award finalist in the entertainment publication 2000/2001. In 2003 it won the Viva Takeout awards and in 2008 was were named in the Metro's Top 50 Auckland Asian restaurants and was the Winner of the Viva Takeout awards for Best Indian in 2008. Best Indian Restaurants - Celebrities also place Oh Calcutta among the best. Joe Cocker and Billy Connolly have enjoyed their dining experience... just to name a few.
