Katsubi donburi is a fusion cuisine modernized from Japanese donburi and Korean bibimbab. Katsubi means “winning day”. The name was originally used back in 2002, when we started a Japanese restaurant in Rotorua, New Zealand.
The meaning “Katsubi” conveys our wish for wellness of people involved with restaurant including customers. In 2010, we became confident that the Katsubi style source and menus are ready to introduce to the market, which was our long planned dream.
