High Country Salmon is a boutique, 100% NZ family-owned salmon farm, cafe, and shop.

Visitors to High Country Salmon have a range of things to do; have a coffee and some delicious salmon-inspired food from the café, feed the salmon (for free) on the floating deck, purchase some salmon to take home from the fish shop, or even catch your own salmon! There is plenty of parking, and the scenery is spectacular!

Salmon Shop: a wonderful range of whole fish, fillets, steaks, portions, smoked and cured salmon. We offer complimentary packaging with ice to keep your salmon in tip-top condition until you get home. If you would like some salmon delivered to your door throughout New Zealand, just place an order via our website – www.highcountrysalmon.co.nz/collections

Cafe: a mouthwatering selection of ready-to-eat foods including sashimi & sushi, or order off our kitchen menus. Try a Fairlie Bakehouse salmon pie (2 varieties to choose from)! There is delicious Allpress coffee and loads of outdoor dining areas on the floating deck or the landscaped garden.

Fish Feeding: feed our hungry salmon out on the deck for free (or a donation to the charity of the month). This is available all day, every day, and is great fun for all ages.

Catch-A-Fish: suitable for the whole family, you can catch your own glacial mountain salmon and take it home. No gear is required and no experience is necessary. Although walk-ins are available, we recommend booking to guarantee your spot. For more information, to book, or to see our terms & conditions, please visit our website – www.highcountrysalmon.co.nz/pages/catch-a-fish
Open from 9am daily. Please check the website for current closing times.
